Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / Manager – Production & Product Commercialisation to drive pharmaceutical API and intermediate manufacturing operations through CMO/third-party manufacturing facilities.
The role involves managing multiple manufacturing partners, driving pharma CMO projects, coordinating product scale-up from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale, and ensuring successful technology transfer and product commercialisation. The candidate should be capable of independently managing 3–4 factory-level resources, identifying new manufacturing facilities, and engaging with senior factory leadership. Regular travel to manufacturing facilities across India is an essential requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. CMO & Multi-site Production Management: Independently manage production operations across 3-4 CMO manufacturing facilities, coordinating factory-level resources, production planning, manufacturing schedules, and execution of API and pharmaceutical intermediate batches.
  2. Pharma CMO Project Management: Drive end-to-end pharmaceutical manufacturing projects with CMO partners, from project initiation and facility selection to manufacturing execution, quality coordination, and commercialisation.
  3. Product Commercialisation & Technology Transfer: Coordinate product development and commercialisation from R&D laboratory to pilot scale and commercial manufacturing, ensuring smooth technology transfer, process understanding, and successful batch execution.
  4. New Manufacturing Facility Identification: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new CMO/third-party manufacturing facilities based on technical capabilities, infrastructure, GMP compliance, production capacity, and commercial suitability.
  5. Production Planning & Execution: Ensure effective production planning, raw material availability, batch manufacturing, packaging, documentation, and coordination with QA/QC teams for timely product release and dispatch.
  6. Quality, Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure adherence to GMP, USFDA requirements, SOPs, BMRs, and applicable regulatory standards while driving process optimisation, yield improvement, cost reduction, and manufacturing efficiency.
  7. Cross-functional & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with R&D, QA/QC, procurement, supply chain, legal, and business teams to resolve operational challenges and ensure smooth execution of manufacturing projects.
  8. Factory Visits & Senior Stakeholder Management: Travel regularly to CMO/third-party manufacturing facilities across India for production reviews, project execution, facility assessments, and operational monitoring. Engage directly with Plant Heads, Factory Managers, Operations Heads, and senior factory leadership to drive projects, resolve operational challenges, and align on production planning, capacity, technology transfer, scale-up, and commercialisation.
Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/API/chemical manufacturing and production operations.
  • Strong experience in CMO/CDMO management and third-party manufacturing operations.
  • Hands-on exposure to API and pharmaceutical intermediate manufacturing.
  • Experience in product scale-up, technology transfer, and commercialisation from lab to pilot to plant.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple manufacturing facilities and coordinate 3–4 factory-level resources.
  • Experience in identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, BMR, SOPs, pharmaceutical quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent project management, stakeholder coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to manufacturing facilities across India.
  • Confidence in conducting discussions and reviews with Plant Heads, Factory Managers, Operations Heads, and senior factory leadership.

Education


  • B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
